imagery allows optometrists to spot tny abnormalites,
compare changes over tme and potentally catch sight-
threatening or even life-threatening conditons early,
giving the best chance of successful treatment.
Retnal photographs are stored permanently, allowing
optometrists to bring up patents records instantly and
track their eye health more eﬃciently and accurately.
This helps to protect people against insidious
conditons like diabetc eye disease, glaucoma and
macular degeneraton, which ofen creep up on people
unawares because of the lack of obvious symptoms.

Aaron Irvine: Optometrist

Aaron brings more than two decades of optcal
experience to Specsavers Queenstown. His ground
work in the optometry business began with lens
manufacturing and dispensing, before sharpening
his skills at the University of Auckland where he
earned himself a degree in optometry. Aaron has
been working for the past 14 years as a qualifed
In-between studying and work Aaron has taken tme
oﬀ for some inspiring overseas adventures. He has
volunteered in Fiji and Nepal as part of a mission to
provide sustainable eye care in the regions, passing on
his own skills to help others in need.
Andrew, the Retail Director at Specsavers Queenstown,
brings 15 years of optcal experience to the business.
Like Aaron, Andrew began his career in lens and glasses
manufacturing. Following this he worked in a number
of optcal stores in Christchurch where he met Aaron
and Kathryn, and the rest is history.
When the opportunity came up to take on the

on it. Aaron, Kathryn and I got on great and we were
excited to give working together a go, says Andrew.
